Deep in the heart of the Moroccan Sahara lies Camp Adounia, a ‘leave no trace’ desert retreat where it’s so quiet, you can hear beetles scurrying over the dunes. Adounia meaning ‘life’ was created by founder Emma Joyston Bechal and local Berber Samir Ait Ahmada. Showing this fragile desert landscape and its Berber culture and inhabitants were at the heart of this bucket list commission.
